About

Glue - the gathered letters universal exchange - enables patients, parents and carers to organise and share documents with other professionals

As a patient and carer you are in receipt of a lot of information from different providers, both within healthcare and beyond. This tool helps ease the burden on individuals, reducing the need for them to manage their documents physically and providing them an easy and automated way to manage the information. It includes optional ‘passport’ information - either input by the user or generated from information in documents added to the system.

The system includes automated reading of documents to record document name, date generated, specialism, location and other useful categorisation. It improves on the existing lack of information about unstructured data in the GP health record, where documents are rarely named, and dates refer to when they were added to the record rather than when they were produced. Secure sharing allows people to send time-limited links to professionals - so that relevant information can be reviewed once when those professionals do not have access to the information.

The vision for the future state of this is that its functionality exists within existing national products, like the NHS App. And that existing flaws in data sharing, integrations and barriers, challenges and limitations with NHS proxy access can be removed.
